Case studies: Author Clock

+ $2 Million Project

Kickstarter

Indiegogo

Launching an online store after Kickstarter was always part of the plan for Author Clock. Wanting to reduce their workload, they used Shopify + Crowd Control to consolidate fulfillment of backer rewards and online sales through one, streamlined process. Using Crowd Control eliminated the need to juggle multiple platforms simultaneously while providing a premium, customizable experience that they couldn’t find from other pledge managers.

Author Clock came to Crowd Control with two goals in mind: they didn’t want to juggle multiple platforms to manage backer rewards and online sales and they wanted a premium, customizable experience that they felt was missing from a previous campaign using BackerKit. The unmatched combination of Shopify and Crowd Control makes completing both an easy reality.

Every Crowd Control survey that gets completed creates an order on Shopify. This means that any shipping solution that integrates with Shopify is automatically available for use to deliver rewards—all without the headache of needing to manually manipulate csv exports from other platforms.

Having used BackerKit on their first campaign, the creator of Author Clock felt like “it wasn’t a very high-end” solution and “didn’t think it was a premium experience sending people to that [platform].” Crowd Control operates entirely on your store using its domain, products, and checkout. The only thing we provide on the frontend is a survey template that you can easily customize to match your brand, impressing backers and increasing sales.

“Crowd Control reduces friction between the phases of crowdfunding and e-commerce.”

Jose Cardona, Creator of Author Clock
